Services
From establishing a new project to leading construction delivery, BREW brings the strategy, team and working processes together around the client’s objectives. Select a service to explore the scope.
Construction project leadership
Leading the project from the first brief through to completion, representing the client and giving the team a clear direction.
BREW acts as the client’s project lead from the earliest brief through to completion. We define what the project must achieve, establish how it will be delivered and lead the professional and construction teams against that plan.
We put effective working arrangements in place from the outset: a capable team, clear responsibilities, timely decisions and useful reporting. As the project develops, we manage competing priorities and keep the team focused on the client’s objectives.
The scope can include:
- Client representation, project definition and delivery strategy
- Professional team selection and appointment coordination
- Project governance, delegated authority and reporting
- Leadership through planning, design, procurement and construction
- Management of decisions, change, performance and completion priorities
The client gains a project with clear direction and a lead who brings the professional advice, commercial priorities and delivery decisions together.
Commercial and contractual oversight
Shaping commercial strategy and overseeing commitments, change and risk to protect the client’s interests throughout the project.
We help shape a commercial approach that supports the client’s objectives, then maintain oversight as the project develops. We consider budgets, forecasts, procurement, appointments and contractual commitments together from the beginning.
Working with the appointed quantity surveyor, finance team and legal advisers, BREW brings specialist advice into the project’s decisions. We assess affordability and exposure, challenge assumptions and manage the implications of change throughout delivery.
The scope can include:
- Commercial strategy aligned with the delivery model and budget
- Oversight of commitments, cash flow and forecast assumptions
- Professional appointments and contractual responsibility allocation
- Coordination of specialist advice on contractual options and change
- Commercial reporting aligned with the programme and procurement strategy
The client gains a consistent basis for commercial decisions, with visibility of commitments, risks and the effect of change.
Programme, design and procurement management
Building a coordinated route from design to construction, with the right team, timely decisions and an achievable delivery plan.
We establish a coordinated route from the initial brief to construction and completion. Design development, approvals, budget and procurement are planned together so the team understands what must happen, when and why.
BREW brings the right professional input into the plan and establishes how information and decisions will move through the team. We maintain that coordination as the project progresses, while appointed designers and specialists remain responsible for their technical work.
The scope can include:
- Master programme development and specialist planning coordination
- Design strategy, responsibilities and information release planning
- Planning and regulatory approvals coordinated with responsible advisers
- Procurement strategy, tender sequencing and appointment priorities
- Readiness reviews and coordinated planning for construction and handover
The client gains a team working to a shared plan, with decisions and professional input organised around the requirements of delivery.
Independent project reviews and recovery
Testing the project position, identifying the decisions that matter and leading an agreed route back to controlled delivery.
An independent review gives the client a considered view before a major commitment, at a stage transition or when delivery is under pressure. We assess the project as a whole, bringing the delivery model, commercial position, programme, appointments and design together.
Findings are presented with their implications, the available options and a recommendation. Where recovery is required, BREW develops the strategy and leads the agreed changes through implementation.
The scope can include:
- Independent project assessments and readiness reviews
- Examination of the assumptions supporting cost and completion forecasts
- Recovery options, implementation priorities and resource requirements
- Revised team arrangements, appointments and management controls
- Oversight of the recovery plan and assessment of progress
The client gains an evidenced assessment and a course of action, with continuing leadership available to carry the changes through.
Appointments
BREW can establish a project from the outset, lead a defined stage or provide continuing leadership through to completion. Independent reviews and recovery appointments are also available.
The remit, authority, specialist resources and reporting are agreed around the client’s objectives and the stage of the project.
